The emphasis is to promote a work/home life balance for our clients thus ensuring personal care and attention is brought to the child day and/or night, without the strain or worry. We know and understand how difficult it can be to employ a nanny under shift work patterns. Flying Tots thrive on flexibility, experience, training and professionalism. This is why it is imperative to choose the right nanny especially for you, to suit your needs.

Our Flying Tots nannies become responsible for your children’s physical health and well being for the time spent with them whilst you are away. They acknowledge the fact that they quickly become role models to the children they care for and a trusted part of the family as well as a valued employee chosen by Flying Tots. 

All nannies are hand picked by the management team at Flying Tots. We adopt a professional relationship, encourage reliability, respect discretion and accentuate loyalty when assigned to a family. This strengthens our nannies stimulating a healthy rapport and positive communication, hence excellent customer service. In turn, Flying Tots builds a comprehensive knowledge and awareness of the nannies, ensuring complete peace of mind to parents.

The Recruitment Process

The Flying Tots recruitment process is a strict one, ensuring that only the highest quality nannies are employed. All nannies undergo a comprehensive application process, which consists of the following:

  • Full completion of profile[registration]
  • Telephone Introduction
  • Interview in-person / video link
  • Qualification certificate and First aid check
  • Ofsted and CRB/DBS approval
  • Passport and drivers documents
  • Proof of address
  • Length of stay in the UK
  • “Terms & Conditions” agreement

References

We invite all child carers who have at least 3 years experience without the necessary childcare qualification, but is willing to undergo a specialised short course advised by Flying Tots and a 6-12 hour Paediatric First Aid course. A recent enhanced CRB/ DBS check must be presented at the Flying Tots interview. At least two references from previous employers and character reference from a known person of two years plus (family not included) must be provided.

  • CACHE [Diploma in Nursery Nursing]
  • CACHE[Diploma in Childcare Education]
  • NVQ [National Vocation Qualification] levels 2,3,4
  • OCN [Maternity Courses] levels 2,3,4
  • OCN [Common core skills and Knowledge Course] compliant with Ofsted Registration
  • OCN [6/12 hour Paediatric First Aid] compliant with Ofsted Registration
  • BTEC [National Diploma in Early Years & Education]
  • City & Guilds [Family & Community Care]

** In addition, all Flying Tots nannies must comply with Health & Safety and Fire regulations.

We ask all Flying Tots nannies to carefully read, sign, date and return the “Terms & Conditions” document via post to the Flying Tots registered address (see specimen page opposite). This document  is sent prior to an interview. Many of our clients request “Ofsted Registered” nannies for Working Families Tax Credit or Childcare Tax Exemption Vouchers which is commonly offered at the workplace.

All nannies and clients are registered with Flying Tots before an assignment takes place. There is “no obligation” on your part at this stage, this is merely the first port of call as we need to ascertain all the necessary details on file to assure correct information and suitability. Confirmation of an assignment is based on your requirements and the nanny’s profile. We will gather this information before deciding which nanny is most suited to your needs. We take into consideration the distance of residence between you and your nanny for reasons of travel convenience.

**All meetings and communication between both parties are received via Flying Tots prior to the introductory nanny visit. After the nanny visit, Flying Tots will continue to communicate with both parties to finalise the complete application process.

Flying Tots
